What do I do when my face powder breaks?

The compact fell and the powder broke up into pieces. Any way I can fix it or improve its current state?What do I do when my face powder breaks?

I take the cake and put it in a small round container from the drug store, like the plastic kind you buy for when you travel. I then smash up the cakes a bit more and use it by dipping a brush into the powder....just like using loose powder.





My sister used to sell Estee Lauder when she was in college and she used to tell people you could gently crush up the cake completely with a spoon, combine it with enough rubbing alcohol to make a paste, and then scoop it up and press it back into the container. After you have it in the container, put a piece of cheeseclothe or papertowel on top and really press it down. Allow it to dry completely for a few days and viola! I've never tried it...it sounds like a lot of work, but give it a shot if you dare.
you can still use it if its not together. loose powder works just as well as...eh, not loose powder for lack of better words. that's happened to me before and i have still used it after it broke.
You can buy a powder case and put the broken powder pieces in it. This way, you don't need to but another,especially if it is really very expensive. And next time,be extra careful.
One way you can try and keep the powder put is to drip rubbing alcohol onto the powder, until it is able to be smashed together, and form a type of powder paste. Within about 24 hours, the alcohol completely evaporates, but the powder remains as a solid. I've tried it a few times before, so I hope it works for you! (This works with any powder makeup such as eyeshadow as well.)
put it in a container - i bought a blush that is in a jar %26amp; is little pieces of about 4 shades - the best I've ever used.

i just crush it up more and put in a container like loose powder...loose powder looks more natural too...

sorry, i don't have and aswer but i just wanna say that those people who keep saying ';buy new stuff'; are retarded. and obviously are like 11 years old cuz they don't have to buy anything by them selves.
Ok, that happened to me the other day, it was so annoying!





Here is what I did. I got the end of a q-tip, pulled the cotton off and used it to smash up the remaining powder in the container. Then I mixed it into a paste, using ethyl alcohol/methylated spirits/rubbing alcohol. Don't try to use water, use alcohol! Anyway, smooth the paste flat into the container like it used to be, and press down on it with a piece of cloth to sorta flatten it.





Water will NOT mix into the powder at all (I tried), but then I thought of using alcohol and it worked a charm.





You need to make sure to let it all evaporate first though, so leave the power open somewhere dry where it won't fall again. I was afraid it would still have an alcohol smell to it or take ages to dry but it was done overnight and smelled only like powder, the alcohol completely evaporated.





It worked way better than I had hoped and I saved my $26 powder! Give it a try. :)








EDIT: I bet all the people saying 'just buy a new one!11' obviously don't have to pay BILLS, or buy FOOD, or RENT or any other expenses. Don't be so wasteful, it's disgusting!
well bare minerals is a great product.
i hate it when that happens, but i usually buy i new one, or put it back in the compact and whenever you use it break it into pieces and apply, or put it in a little bag, like the ones for sandwhiches

buy a new one.. duh.. and i have dropped my powder plenty of times but it has never broken.. i use M.A.C maybe the quality matters. dont buy cheap make up..
