Is it really good to put johnson's baby powder on your face?

I have a normal skin with few pimples. What's the pros and cons and when exactly can you apply? Thanks. Is it really good to put johnson's baby powder on your face?
It will take the oils out of your skin. So if your skin is normal it may not be good for your skin as it may dry is out. but if you're breaking out after you use your mosturizer try putting some on after mosturizing your face that way it will soak up any of the excess lotion you may have put on your faceIs it really good to put johnson's baby powder on your face?
it helps me it takes away the oil on my skin
i used to always put that stuff on my face and it made it dry

How do you make baby powder on your face?

Im putting halloween makeup on, and using it as a white/pale look. It tends to fall off after a while. How do you make it stay? i heard a trick of damping something? How do you make baby powder on your face?
Try putting on face cream and rubbing it in slightly. This will make your face moist and hopefully help the baby powder to stay on.How do you make baby powder on your face?
Try putting on a moisturizer first.
How abt 1st applying some face cream and then put powder??? this might stay for sometime atleast...
WEIRD!!.... try this though... may sound weird but mix the baby powder with lotion and blend it into your face. or mix it with alittle sunscreen or try using i dont know... but dont use oil it will clog ur pores... good luck... you know you can probably go to CVS or Wall greens or the dollar store and get some really cheap Halloween make up silly.
if you get it wet, it's going to dry, and then fall off again. get a pale liguid, and use that.
try to put a little but of

watter on your face first

or you can try to put on

cream fondation then the powder

idk hopefuly that will work

:]
mix the baby powder with your regular foundation and add face lotion to the mixture and put it on with a make up sponge. i'm sure its the best thing because its not harsh. make sure you make it a thick content:)

hope it works.
try mixing it with face lotion. Like a really tiny bit. Make it into like a thick pasty kind texture and rub it on gently and thinly.
put on an adhesive like base or vaseline (light vaseline)
First, cover yourself in glue - silly!

When should you use a face powder? Should you use it for everday makeup?

I use it everyday- after I'm done putting on my foundation and concealer I use it to set my makeup and to absorb any oil. If you don't wear foundation or concealer, use it to even out your skin and keep it matte. When should you use a face powder? Should you use it for everday makeup?
Here are some tricks:

1) put on your concealer

2) take a sponge for your foundation and dab it in water and dip it in your liquid foundation and rub all over your face

(water will place your foundation evenly as it is better when it's moist)

3) this is when you take the face powder, put it under your eyes, where you put your concealer. you can rush this, it doesnt have to go on neat

(this will also help when you put on eyeshadow so that the colour doesnt fall onto your cheeks)

4) take a face brush and disperse the powder all over your face

5) put some blush on

that makes a great face

goodluck! When should you use a face powder? Should you use it for everday makeup?
Powder is actually better to use than foundation. Foundations have a lot of oils in them, unlike powder. If you want you can use Noxzema powder. It will be better for you.
you can use it everyday..

Has any one tried mac face powder? how does it work?

I Just want to know before i go ordering it.

does it work better that brands you can get in walmart?Has any one tried mac face powder? how does it work?
Yes, works great!Has any one tried mac face powder? how does it work?
It depends on what kind of skin type you have, if you face is oily I wouldnt suggest it. For my by the afternoon my face got really gross feeling. Its better than drug store brands because you able to find you exact color instead of guessing by looking at the packaging.
its a very good buy...since i started using MAC make up...my skin cleared up. also, you can actually try the product before buying them, you'll have an idea on how it will look on you and if the shade is right.

i use a brush to apply it...it looks more natural. and you might wanna buy it in stores so you can try it on first.
I have oily skin and I swear by MAC. They have an oil control moisturizer that I use before applying any powder or foundation that helps to keeps my face from getting oily throughout the day. I use Studio Fix and if I need any touch ups I just use some blot powder and I have no shine.
I use MAC's Studio Fix dual powder and foundation. It looks and feels just like normal powder but it has more coverage. All I use is a bit of their concealer and then the powder and it makes my face look flawless. I don't have to reapply through out the day either. It really lasts. I love it!

Good luck :)

p.s the girl before me is right; If your face is oily it won't be a good choice for you.

How to apply powder makeup to face?

I use a mineral powder on my face but by the end of the day it always ends up looking uneven and blotchy. My skin isn't dry so I don't know what could be causing this..Any ideas??/Suggestions on how to prevent it?How to apply powder makeup to face?
If you just apply the powder on with out a primer or a moisturizer that is why it looks blotchy and uneven. My all time favorite primer is Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. When you apply it on it makes your skin smooth and it doesn't clog your pores at all. So when you apply your powder foundation tap any loose foundation so you dont get the feeling you have makeup on. Alot of people usually apply it on wrong. So this is how you properly apply it on

Step 1. Cleanse and tone your skin

A foundation should always be applied on a clean and toned face. Use a mild cleanser appropriate for your skin and cleanse your face thoroughly to remove all the impurities and oils that have accumulated during the night. Tone your skin with a toner that suits your skin.

Step 2. Apply moisturizer

The first step when applying makeup is the application of appropriate moisturizer according to your skin type. It will improve your skin quality and act as a protective layer to help trap the moisture in the skin and stop it from evaporation. It will eliminate any dry patches and will allow you to achieve a more even coverage. Apply the moisturizer and let it soak in at least 3 minutes before applying foundation.

Step 3. Apply a concealer

Apply a concealer to hide any imperfections. To hide pimples or spots, use thick concealer that matches your skin tone. Apply it using a small makeup brush directly on the spot and blend slightly till it disappears.

Step 4. Start the application

A powder foundation should always be applied with a makeup sponge or with a foundation brush, but never use your fingertips to apply it. If you want to achieve more coverage you should use a brush although a makeup sponge is also a great way to apply powder foundation.

Wipe the sponge onto the foundation and apply it over the entire face or only to any problem areas, usually the T-zone (nose, chin and forehead).

When using a brush to apply the powder foundation, swirl the brush to pick up the foundation. Tap the excess powder and brush onto your face with gentle, circular motions. Always apply the foundation in downward motions. S

Step 5. Blend the foundation carefully

It’s essential to blend the foundation carefully, especially if you apply a powder foundation. Start blending at your forehead and slowly spread all over your face. Move in circular motions, ensuring there are no patches and hard lines. Make sure the foundation suits your skin tone.

There is no need to set the foundation with a powder, otherwise your face may look too caked and unnatural.

Do the rest of your makeup as usual. How to apply powder makeup to face?
You can't just apply powder to your face, you have to use a moisturizer first.

Apply the moisturizer evently to your face and neck

If you use foundation then pour a little out- get a brush- yes a brush and dab it into the foundation then in small round circles apply the foundation all over your face and neck.

THen use another brush and dab it into your powder lightly, brush this all over your face and neck as well.

If you use foundation you need to use the powder to set the foundation.

If you DO NOT use foundation...just moisturize your face and then use a big fat brush and dab it into the powder then put it on your face in a circular motion. Start at your forhead and work your way down one side of your face then the other.

Also try changing the brand of powder or the colour...ask a beatician to match the powder to your skin
Wash face with clean and clear facial cleanser, moisturize with light cream and blot face with sheet of tissue paper to remove the excess globs of cream. Brush powder with fat makeup brush all over and then blot again with tissue to get excess powder off face. Apply rest of makeup and then go over face with a bronzer and voila.. you have clean and fresh glowing face
You should use a lotion first. This will help moisturize your skin. Another thing that could be causing this is you're not using a foundation primer. I suggest Smashbox PhotoFinish Primer. It works wonders, trust me! Do that and apply with a good brush and you should be fine.
I moisturize with Oil of Olay Complete to your face and to your neck, and let it set.

Then apply a face primer ~ your skin will feel so soft ~ let it set a minute and then apply your Mineral Makeup. This helps your makeup last longer.
Apply it using a big fluffy brush

You may be applying the brush to heavy so dip the brush into the powder and then lightly shake it so there isn't a too thick coat of powder of the brush

Then brush it all over your face

x
Well Bare Minerals makes a product called Prime Time. It's applied very thinly across the whole face and basically gives you an even surface to work with. It also helps to hold the powder. Good Luck!
Moisturise first and make sure you use a brush not a pad, brushes ensure even coverage and a more natural look.
wash ur face first and then put the powder on.

  • Has anyone tried mineral face powder?

Have heard that mineral face powder is meant to be much better for your skin.. anyone know if this is true and if so why?? Anyone recommend any brands they use?Has anyone tried mineral face powder?
Mineral powder foundation is wonderful for your skin as long as you are using a pure mineral product. There are many products on the mineral bandwagon these days, but most of them contain other ingredients and fillers other than minerals. The best thing to do is to check the ingredients.

I am using a mineral makeup that only contains 5 essential mineral ingredients. It is called kms mineral essentials. I love it. I get great wear, and my skin looks amazing.Has anyone tried mineral face powder?
If it has become necessary to use such things, you can go for it but if you have some time spare in the mornings and evenings completely for yourselves, simply you should get up early in the morning and do the Yogic pranayama and meditation which shall enhance your fairness as well as you willpower for doing anything. it's the natural way that can help you better.
i used the new maybeline mineral powder and it works just fine. i've also used loreal mineral powder and it works the same, i haven't tried bare essentuals yet but i've heard rave reviews!
i use Bare Escentuals but it is not so good.ur skin may break out.so better dont use it. my frnd who is a beautician says that mineral powders are really waste. bye. tc and hav good skin
    Yes. I use http://hotspot.webblogg.se/images/1_1179?/a>
I use Avon mineral makeup it is cheaper than the rest and I love it!
I use Bare Escentuals and notice that I get compliments on my skin and rarely break out.
    no... I use calamine powder...
i use bare escentuals also %26amp; i love it.

it`s good for your skin and gives great coverage.

I love this stuff. I have sensitive skin too, and bought this stuff just to try... great coverage, long lasting, feels like air, no itching or sneezing, cheap to buy (AU$24.95) and good for your skin. I picked it up from Priceline.

I also recommend investing in a really good quality powder brush because that might help stop the irritation. I HATE cheap, scratchy brushes and recently bought an Ecotools Bamboo Powder Brush - made from natural and recycled materials, its really soft and works like a dream.

Is it a must to apply foundation before you powder your face?

Sometimes, I wanna skip foundation to save time. But I am afraid my make-up would turn out hideous. Is it a must to apply foundation before you powder your face?
no, but its better if you doIs it a must to apply foundation before you powder your face?
No do as you like its your face i don't so why does anyone else have to!!!!!!!
    foundation is so out...

the Bare Essentuals is a powder foundation %26amp; so easy, so natural, so quick..

apply your moisturizer, then powders with a brush...clean, quick..

try it...you can get at any salon that specializes in facials or some dermatologists carry...or just go online to Bare E.
Depends on your skin type, I rarely wear foundation unless my skin is looking particularly grey or has blemishes.

Basically foundation will even out your skin tone and will make the rest of your make up stay on for longer.

You can also get powders that are heavier and called foundations. They are good for oily skins but not so good on dry as it shows up any flakes
Unless you are trying to cover something up, you really don't need a creme/liquid foundation. Try something like: Bare Minerals Powder Foundation or Bare Natural. It works great to even your skin tone. However, during the day, make sure if you feel/it looks like it is rubbing off, re-apply it. Make sure your face is free of oil first. To get rid of the oil and make the powder go on smooth, Oil Blotting Papers work really well. You can get them for about $5 for like a lot of papers.
I ALWAYS apply foundation before the powder. But there is no rule stating that you have to. Just try skipping the foundation part and see what it looks like. If it looks terrible, you'll just learn to never do it again.
yea..i heard that it will be better for your face if u do apply foundation first.
it doesn't matter....i don't ever put on foundation, but i do just go ahead and put on the powder. so, basically whatever you feel like is right.
You can just use powder, but you won`t get the `coverage`.
Skip the powder and just put on the foundation. Powder shows lines and makes your face dry.
depends on the powder.. some brands look cakey or dry if you dont use foundation, but if you put on moisturizer... same effect. Maybe you should try the mineral makeup? its a foundation/powder in one. I love it, I dont use it all the time... but on light days I do, and it covers EVERYTHING... you can layer it without looking fake
Try mineral makeup. It is a powder foundation.

    puritycosmetics.co.uk is a good brand.
It depends on what works best for you. I know without the foundation, you will want to powder touch up threw the day.
No, but there must be something on your face for the powder to stick to.

Other than foundation, which can be too heavy for daytime use, you can use a facial moisturizer. I recommend a tinted moisturizer for sheer coverage. Dip a large brush in loose powder, tap off the excess, and lightly dust your face using a circular motion. If you can see the powder on your face after you apply it, just sweep a clean cotton ball over it.
You don't always need to apply foundation. Just a simple powder works just fine. Loose powder will work just as well. It covers all blemishes and skin irregularites.

Will applying baby powder to your face after using an acne system with Ativa effect the outcome?

I put ativa on last and then put baby powder on my face to help the oily skin caused by the meds! It also helps my acne appearance! Will this hurt my outcome? Will applying baby powder to your face after using an acne system with Ativa effect the outcome?
Although baby powder is safe to use because it doesn't have many chemicals in it, it can still clog pores. However, it's much better to use baby powder on your face than regular foundation or cover-up. I think it's alright for you to use the baby powder, as long as you make sure to wash it off before you go to bed at night.

Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil OR Clinique Blended Face Powder ?

Hi! I want to order from Sephora in the next few days, and i need a setting powder which:

    ~Sets concealer and makeup primer

    ~Cuts down on shine

    ~Sheer coverage

~Gives me a beautiful, dewy finish

If you have any other powders that you suggest and are under 20$$,

    let me know!!

Thanxx! :)Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil OR Clinique Blended Face Powder ?
Bare Escentuals gives a good finish but clogs pores due to the cornstarch (if you're prone to that). I wouldn't recommend clinique or any other name brand because they all use harmful chemicals. Afterglow Cosmetics has a translucent or semi-transparent setting powder-$26-natural ingredients. You can also check Everyday Minerals is good too.

    Gluck.

Does anyone know where i can buy a white face powder? preferably loose?

I've been using baby powder but apparently it gives you cancer, which is obviously not desirable. Any ideas guys?

THANKS!!!Does anyone know where i can buy a white face powder? preferably loose?
Pfft, baby powder doesn't give you cancer. You shouldn't be using it on your face as makeup though.

As a freaky freaky alternative person, I'd say try shops that sell makeup for goths or online stores such as Attitude Clothing.

I think this might be what you're looking for:

  • Why is wearing baby powder on your face so common to many Filipinos?

How come many people from kids to middle aged Filipinos put baby powder on their face? Not only in the Philippines but also in the States....Is it an attempt to look whiter? Why is wearing baby powder on your face so common to many Filipinos?
That's good for oily skin. People who not ready for make-up yet are prefer to use baby powder and it also helps you to look fresh. Why is wearing baby powder on your face so common to many Filipinos?
Maybe an attempt to make some body parts smell better.

Yes, not only on the face, but also on the private parts. I have a classmate that powders her ';you know what'; up to this day since this was the way with her since she was young. Her yaya used to powder her there. Much to the delight of her boyfriend, because everytime her BF makes to her the Hayden Kho-Kristina Halili thing, he is reminded that he is kissing a baby.

Once in Eat Bulaga, Vic Sotto asked a woman: Anong ginagawa mo sa

itlog mg mister mo tuwing umaga? Vic was referring to chicken eggs. But the woman answered: Pinupulbuhan ko yun bago sya umalis ng bahay. There was a great laughter from Tito, Vic and Joey and the audience.
Baby powder removes the shine off of your face caused by humidity and perspiration. And using it is in no way an attempt to look whiter.

Baby powder is ideal for most Filipinos because it's less sticky than face powder and it's milder.
It is used so that your skin would no look too shiny because of oily skin,,, and it will make you feel fresh,, for some they use it to make their skin whiter but generally so that they can avoid their face looking so shiny because of oily skin,, I hope I answered your question
because its so hot here in the philippines and people sweat profusely...

baby powder makes the face less shiny..

i dont use it though, i prefer washing my face if i sweat..
It's become a habit passed from generation to generation. It's cheap and easy to do.
nope. but to be fresco. baby powder feels good on skin thats why its good for real babies and big babies.
To keep away glare from oily skin.
To look fairer!!!!! No other excuses please.
I tried dirt and mud.. but nah! it doesn't make me look good..
Its to dampen the shine when u sweat. For skin whitening there are other products.
First, Philippine climate is rather warm. Baby powder is not sticky.

while pressed powders tends to feel heavy on the skin.

Second, Baby powder being mild to the skin. we ladies think that

its better to use a mild product everyday, and complete make up on special occasions.

Third, baby powders are way cheaper.

Fourth, perfect for sensitive skin and the smell is very innocent.

Fifth, it will reduce shine on a rather oily face.

Sixth, teeners gets addicted to it easily.

Seventh,it will not make the skin look whiter, however it will make the skin look a little more refreshed.

    There.
Yes, it's to look whiter. Some even use bleaching products. Most commonly Filipino's avoid sunlight on purpose, even swimming at night to maintain the white skin. In contrast Caucasians do everything they can to oil up and lay out in the sun, sometimes for weeks on end to darken up. Some even go to tanning salons and use light or even spray cans to darken up. Many caucasians even intentioanlly spend days off in the sun, swimming, and relaxing to enhance the color too.
They want to look like their favorite television star,';Casper the friendly ghost';.

I use Bare Minerals. I found that it covers well and I also have freckles along with a skin condition called vitiligo which makes your skin lose pigmentation. This causes the skin to be totally white in some areas and whatever your color skin is or freckly in others, which is causes a weird contrast. It almost looks as if you may have been burned and the white skin is just scarred. This make up has been very good for my skin, covers very nicely, let's my skin breathe and I can sleep in it. I have received many compliments on my makeup. I have found all of their products to be very good. When you order the free starter kit, they give you a choice of two colors or you can get the same color in two bottles. This way you can choose which is the right color for you. Also, I started using a product of theirs that you are only suppose to wear a night, but can wear it under your make up if you want. It's called Rare Minerals. This stuff is like gold! If your skin is dry, make sure you apply a soy based moisturizer. There is a right way to apply the makeup and if you order the starter kit, it comes with a video or CD that shows exactly how to do it. Just remember, less is more. It appears as if you will need alot to get the type of coverage you want, but you only need a little, because these are minerals they deflect and don't show the imperfections in your skin. You can apply 2 layers and get very good coverage. And if you use it correctly, a little goes a long way.
get Mac fix+ spray and you will get a nice look, I love that product

It is AMAZING - it looks like your skin has no makeup. You won't break out with it on - you can even sleep with it on (not that I recommend it) Just try it - also there should be a how-to dvd in the kit. I've seen it at Ulta - those kits usually sell out. It should come with Warmth (which isn't a bronzer - but it does give you that outdoorsy look) So far the stuff is amazing, I've converted almost all the ladies that I work with to use Bare Minerals. If you don't like it - check with Ulta on their money-back policy. I highly think that you will not need to return it. It has been the best investment that I've made on this makeup - and it DOES NOT Expire! I've been using it for 2 years and I wish I had started when I was your age - because who knows what sort of effect that the chemicals in foundations and pressed cosmetics has had on my skin.

As for the color that you choose - make sure you have an Ulta personnel help you out. The colors are pretty forgiving - so if you tan easily in the summer, the color you choose will still work - just make sure to blend on your neck. Good luck and I know you will turn into a believer!

  • Best face powder for Chinese skin tone?

I'm currently using Sue Devitt gel foundation and face powder. The color matches my skin nicely, but I don't like how the powder gets ';flaky'; as my face gets oily. Some areas look great b/c the oil takes away that matte look, but other areas look kinda flaky or ';crumbly'; if that makes any sense at all.

I have sensitive skin and don't need a lot of coverage. Thanks!Best face powder for Chinese skin tone?
I'm not sure if you are looking for a loose or pressed powder. But this new powder from Elizabeth Arden goes on beautifully http://shop.elizabetharden.com/product/i?/a> it adds a touch of luminosity to the skin - so pretty! I'm not sure why the Sue Devitt powder would flake as you get oily.

I always use the Smashbox Light Primer http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh?/a> under my foundation so the oil won't come through and interfere with my makeup. I seriously love this stuff and if they ever discontinue it I will be devastated. The original primer works well, but tended to clog my pores the new Light one is simply amazing for oily skin.Best face powder for Chinese skin tone?
Try products from Shiseido. Shiseido has been around for over a century and is more targetted towards Asian skins. Which one product in particular, I don't know--go to a Shiseido counter and ask for some help. (I, by the way, am Asian as well, and use Shiseido religiously)

I buy MAC makeup and always get compliments. Only if they knew that my face isn't as clear as it looks. lol. but it works great. plus the girl help you find a color thats best for you. good luckHelp!! face makeup troubles with foundation and powders whats the best stuff please give were to buy?
Well the only other choice is in between then . I think you're probably using the convince store purchased makeup which is more likely to do that stuff. Use a higher quality face powder and foundation like the ones you may find at Sephora or MAC. They are more likely to blend with your actual skin tone than cover it up. That way you avoid being to light or too dark . There is a wider range of complexions other than toasty or porcelain. I find that even if you mix the two because of the quality you'll still kinda of have a glossy look to your face so i wouldn't mix.
try going with no make up or mediocre style, i say thats your last resort
There are some new foundations that are really great when it comes to this. You almost can't go wrong with foundations like Covergirl TruBlend or L'Oreal True Match. Just pick one close to your skin color on your jaw and blend blend blend. Powder isn't necessary unless you're really shiny or oily, in which case a translucent powder is best.
mac is really good and they have a really good bronzer) it blends well and it dont look orange or fake unlike most bronzers and they do fab foundations its really easy to mach your skin tone :)
get matched at a makeup counter or sephora. they also will help u with texture.

u can also try Mixing ur foundations, the dark and light. :)
I agree with Strawberry. You can also find makeup sample packs at drugstores from brands like Revlon and Cover Girl. You could pick one of the sample packs up to find a good match before buying the regular size bottle of makeup.
okay well you could try going to macys and in there there are mac store. Its a really good make up brand %26amp;%26amp; the people there are super friendly, and they wont laugh if you dont know a thing about make up. But they can match the perfect foundation to match your skin tone...i used to have the same problem its a little pricy there but its definetly worth it...it also lasts a really long time.
A couple of the best foundations that I have found are MAC and the most amazing one is NARS... I remember the first time I tried it, wow. The best thing to do is to find a NARS or MAC beauty counter near you: http://www.narscosmetics.com/acb/stores/?/a>

...get the professionals to match what is right for you and your skin... it's their job and it is so worth it once you find out and are comfortable with a product.
i always had that trouble, then just recently i tried a new makeup from maybelline, it's called pure makeup.. i bought it in nude, light and then i top it with the purestay powder in buff and out of all the makeups i tried, which is alot, this one looks and feels the most natural

What's the best face powder that i can get at a drugstore or sephora?

i don't want any loose powders (bareminerals or any other mineral makeup)

it also doesn't have to be heavy coverage.. just a nice light powder to even out skin toneWhat's the best face powder that i can get at a drugstore or sephora?
Lancome has great face powder. What's the best face powder that i can get at a drugstore or sephora?
Try clinque' matte finish. It is light and doesn't leave you with that ';caked'; face feel. Sephora also sells Stila which besides MAC is my favorite.
A very nice, semi cheap powder that is smooth but also has natural minerals and extracts to smooth your skin is Boots Botanics Lighter Than Air Pressed Powder. It is found at select drugstores such as Target. If it gets damaged it can be replaced and if you run out you can easily get more. Even though it is on the cheap side, it works much better than most expensive brands and it makes your face extremely smooth.
Hmm, I'd go with Maybelline pressed powder, it a compact and really cheap :) it works great ! ( it's like $4) You know what compact means ;)

    Portable!

    yay!
to even out skin tone? you need almay smart shade. it goes on like suntan lotion, and rubs in to match your skin tone. no more embarassing lines!

What is the loose face powder?

im having a problem when i apply eyeshadow that some of it falls on my cheeks, so people recommended to use loose face powder under my eyes. but i don't know what that is. Is it the same powder that i use for my entire face(contour). if it is then why they call it loose face powder?

thanksWhat is the loose face powder?
Loose powder is what it sounds like. Loose powder. It's not pressed like a compact, or liquid.

It can come in a container, or a brush that deposits the powder through the brush. What is the loose face powder?
Loose face powder is a translucent or skin toned powder used to eliminate oiliness or shine on your skin. You use it after you apply your foundation to set the foundation and to make your skin look more matte. You use a blush and bronzer to contour, not a powder. Powder wouldn't really help with the fallout from your eyeshadow, though.

If you're having problems with fallout from your eyeshadow, I recommend use a primer before you apply the eyeshadow and apply face powder over your eye to set it.
but eyelid primer. it keeps the eye shadow on your eyelids and for a longer time: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P74310%26amp;categoryId=B70

You should put it on your t zone so your face will be shine free:]
Use a podwer brush, get a little dusting on its tip and dust it on the face do forget the ridges of your cheek bone or the tip of you nose.

The good thing about using a brush is that you can almost never get too much powder on.
    i dont no

  • What brand of makeup makes extreamly pale face powder?

i use a powder that matches my skin everyday but when my skin is red from the cold and using chemicals i need a face powder that is very white. please tell me what brand is best. What brand of makeup makes extreamly pale face powder?
I've got very fair skin as well, and I've tried a lot of different products including the more expensive types. I am a loyal cover girl wearer, as their light shades work much better than anything else I've tried. Another thing that I do is apply a light dust with a large brush of their sheer powder called 'translucent fair' or something along those lines on top of all my other make-up.What brand of makeup makes extreamly pale face powder?
MAC has so many light colors and the foundation with powder in one would work well to cover up the red blotchiness you have. Go to the MAC website and check it out.
go to this webpage and look for your products there. it's my website. http://www.neatshoppers.ws look for cosmetics link
Lancome has one that is pretty good- also Shiseido makes a liquid make up that is fair but with yellow undertones. It is the hardest to find- super fair make up. Bare Escentuals has a fair makeup but again with yellow undertones.
    cover girl girl
I know that M.A.C. carries really pale powders.

However, I've found that the best way to combat red skin from cold and chemicals is by using calming moisturizers with a greenish tint. (I like Eucerin products that have calming ingredients and their day moisturizer has a subtle green tint.) Also, I think that Physician's Formula also makes green tinted powders. Sounds weird, but it works better.
cover girl came out with that new blending make up, which is what i use. i'm irish so i'm very pale and it's hard to find stuff to make my face look natural. but that blends from cover girl works!

What does translucent face powder do?

like how do u wear it and what is it supposed to do?What does translucent face powder do?
you use it by just using a brush to lightly put it evenly on your face. It is used to give ur skin an even and finished look and a natural glow. good stuff. What does translucent face powder do?
put it on after you apply foundation. it helps the make up stay on longer and keeps your face shine free
Cuts shine without adding color. put it on over your foundation.
You either use it with a powder puff or powder brush over top of your foundation.

The main point is it helps set the makeup so it lasts longer.

You can also use it over lipstick to help set it so it doesnt wear as fast.
It's supposed to even out your skin tone and make your face look smoother. But there's no blotches b/c it's translucent.
It's a foundation that you put on your face that's lighter than the powdered make-up that comes in compacks!!
you do realize putting on makeup is not a good idea. when you are older your skin will be very wrinkly. i would try to stay away from anything that has to do with your face to keep the skin nice. if you are trying to hide the pimples, i would try getting acne creme like clearicil. don't go to sephora for acne treatment, they sell you like a whole bunch of b-s and it doesn't work. when i was breaking out, i went to sephora and i bought so much stuff from them and none of the stuff work and i ended up going to pharmacy stuff and it worked real well. if you have nothing on your face you need to cover up then why would you want to wear it? just wear eye makeup and lipstick/lip gloss.

anyways if you want to know how to put it on then, use a brush, one of those big brushes....like a face brush to put it on.
absorb oil , set's your foundation and gives your make up a ';finished'; look
    reduces shine from face oils.

just apply it like a normal powder over your foundation. it works like a charm
    it makes u invisible

Any Ideas for a good face powder?

I need a good, affordable facepowder that can be taken around in my bag, and lasts for a few hours. i have fair skin but i dont want to look pale! help!Any Ideas for a good face powder?
the most affordable would be by Collection 2000, theirs is usually £2.99

but if youre looking advanced long-stay id say Rimmel stay matte, or Rimmel clear complexion because they both do what they say they will and its only about £3.99 each

Hope that helped!Any Ideas for a good face powder?
well i have pale skin also and I use covergirl clean pressed powder in buff beige. It works pretty good I think and is not overpriced.
The best and most long lasting I fund is bee luscious cosmetics mineral pressed powder I would suggest looking at colors like shell or tender they are beautiful and very natural as well as so easy to apply.
Mineral Makeup, like L'oreal Bare Naturales, is the most healthy coverage makeup, and it comes in a conveinient pressed powder compact, loose pwder brush, or liquid foundation. It costs about $11-$13, but it's worth every penny.
Try puritycosmetics,co,uk. It is really good!
i just started using a mineral powder.......it's called:

    ';MINERAL WEAR --- Mineral Loose Powder';

%26amp; it's the ';PHYSICIANS FORMULA'; which is supposed to be better for sensitive skin i guess.

anyway, so far i love it! it feels great, like it's not even there. %26amp; it looks really natural too.

my color/shade is ';buff beige'; but it's different for everyone so idk what you'd be. but it matches my skin tone reallllllllyyyyyyy well :-)

oh, %26amp; i got it at the grocery story for about $10!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to make your face powder stay on all day (i.e. have non-shiney skin)?

My powder lasts like an hour before my face is oily looking/shiney again! I've tried lots of different kinds but I always have the same problem. Is there a trick? And believe it or not I actually have dry skin in the winter in some areas but I only rub a dab of lotion in (where I put lotion doesn not matter with shine-where I do put it looks the same as where I don't apply lotion)How to make your face powder stay on all day (i.e. have non-shiney skin)?
Use an oil-free mattifying moisturizer and a primer before putting on your make-up. I can't promise you that you'll be oil-free all day but it should last longer.

    I can't believe I am answering this..

But my wife swears by 'Rice powder.' You may need to go to a store that carries Chinese products, but she found it in one of the big drug store chains as well. Not sure of the cost. What is the best face powder that stops nose shine all day (price doesnt matter) ?
    None. Real skin doesn't shine.
You dont have to get the most expensive but what you do need to do it put a little concealer on your nose first then apply any type of powder, it stays better that way
lol at johnny!! is your nose shining like Rudolf's on Christmas eve?? lol i'm kidding, dear!!

    i really don't know.. i don't wear make-up that much anyways
try plaster of paris........ once applied never removed....
I agree with Johnny....however....never re apply powder...use oil free blotting sheets....same effect
I don't wear foundation either. I prefer to use Merell Norman Sheer Translucent Face Powder. That stuff is the best I know of.

It goes for about $12.....but you get a crap load.
Girl you need to try mineral foundation.. it's powder but it isn't made of talc, it is made of minerals... Neutrogena makes it now, as well as Physician's Formula, and then the more expensive brands are Sheer Cover and Bare Escentuals. You will LOVE it... it makes your skin look flawless, covers any imperfections, and keeps your whole face from getting shiny all day.
MAC powder is pretty good, since it is ';stage'; make up, it gives you a matte finish for most of the day. I do also recommend that you use an oil free moisturizing lotion, not cream, to place under the powder, you don't want the make up to clog your pores and cause break outs. You can also try Bare Minerals, I tried them last week, and you'll be surprised how well it covers everything :)

Your basic Bare Minerals starter kit will usually retail for between $75 and $105.

It's important to know exactly how to apply your Bare Essentials makeup. Unlike regular cream or chemical-based makeup, it's a much different approach and won't look good if not applied properly. After buying the product, I tried applying it before I watched the enclosed tutorial DVD. The results weren't good. When applied properly, Bare Essentials looks great. It's not cakey, nor does it look overdone. The finish is smooth and seamless, and the overall coverage is great. Also, because it's a mineral, it won't clog or suffocate your pores, meaning your skin won't suffer.

powder is much cheaper and easier to apply.

but apparently it clogges your pores.

Cover Girl (I think) has a new line out
I am middle eastern too, so I know what you are talking about. The only makeup line that has a great coloring selection is Prescriptives. Even if you do not find the right match, they can custom blend it for you. Do not look any where else. I have tried every thing that you could possibly imagine and P is the best.
Maybellines foundation that is fifty percert water works nicely because it covers well and it wont screw up your skin because its fifty percent water. Use cover girls or anyone elses LOOSE POWDER you'd like. Its a bit messy, but you'll get the hang of how to keep it off of everything except your face. Loose powders have more coverage and their really good as far as oil control.

Is face powder OK to wear everyday?

I like it just to seal off my look but as I'm still in the adolescent age, I can get spots or is this more to do with hygiene than make up?Is face powder OK to wear everyday?
I've wore foundation everyday since i was 10 and it not given me any spots! Don't worry, as long as it's a good brand that not too cheep! XIs face powder OK to wear everyday?
its more likely to be to do with hormones.

just make sure you're using a reliable brand of makeup, and make sure you remove it, and cleanse and mositurise (using a moisturiser that suits your skin type) before you go to bed.

also, it's important to try and drink 8 glasses of water a day, flushes the toxins out of your body and improves your skin.

yeah, i do. i wear rimmels clear complexion invisbale powder, i use it to take away the shine on my face and also to make red patches and spots on my face look less noticeable, its about £2.50 and you can get it from boots or any make up store or supermarket.

    good luck

    XXX
It most likely has to do with puberty. Powder and makeup is fine, as long as the ingredients IN those powders are natural. Use a mineral makeup (like afterglowcosmetics, lush, bareminerals, ect) and it should be okay.
powders are a lot better for your skin than actual liquid foundations , especially if you plan on wearing them for long periods of time .

liquids are mainly oil based %26amp; can cause pimples %26amp; imperfections , but powders are lot softer on your skin . they can still get into your pores but not nearly as bad as liquid .
It's fine to wear face powder everyday, but you must remember to remove it with cleanser each night!

Unfortunately everyone can get spots at any age, although adolescent's are more prone to them.
its really normal, when my friend was 11 she wore powder everyday. hygiene yes, but it can't always be solved, it is definitely OK to wear powder, or foundation.
not really not everyday give your skin two days a week so it can breath then carry on powdering it the rest of the week xD

Ladies: What's your favourite face powder brand?

I use Bare Minerals. That stuff is like magic. I sound like the commercial, but no one EVER complimented me on my skin until I started using it.Ladies: What's your favourite face powder brand?
My favorite face powder is Origins Silk Screen Powder. I set my makeup once a day- it never cakes and helps to control oil. My second favorite is Estee Lauder's Doublewear Powder Foundation- with controllable coverage. For very oily skin, use Estee Lauder Double Matte. Keep in mind- your skincare should be the remedy to excessive oiliness, not your powder.
I like Clinique Superpowder Double Face Powder. Foundation and powder in one with a matte finish that never looks caked on!!!

A great powder to give your face a fresh brightening effect is Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. It creates a flawless ';lit from within'; glow.
I use CoverGirl pressed powder as well. I liked it over the other brands I've used. Goes on pretty well and stays as long as I apply it right. Plus the price is pretty reasonable.
I love Estee Lauder, I have tried others but I always go back to it. It is very soft and can be applied as sheer or as heavy as you want. It retails for about $35.
Bare Minerals/Bare Escentuals is the only powder I have ever been able to use. It does wonderfully with my skin.

Wud be good if u cud suggest me some of the brands,n i don't understand if the color will go with my skin,How do i check that before buying?I am an Indian with a wheatish complexion(on the darker side).Sugestions for Foundations n Face powder?
First check your skin tone. Look at your blood vine's color. If it is green, you have a cool skin tone, if blue you have a warm tone. Then pick a foundation that is opposite of your skin tone to balance your skin color.

Then is to pick your Foundation. Beware that you have to go to a counter to test our your foundation color first. (e.x. Sephora) chose three color, one is close to your skin tone, one darker, one lighter. Test it on your face ( you have to test it on your face, not hands other wise you will pick the wrong shade) then go out to sunlight to see which color matches your face the best (do NOT wear foundation when you are testing out your foundation). Get the one that is closest to your skin tone

In your case, this might be hard for you to choose a right shade since Asian and African has complicate skin tone. If you are ';nerdy'; enough, try mix up your own foundation (liquid would be the easiest), or the lazy way is to find a brand that is good for your skin and goes with your skin tone.

    Good luck finding one ^^

  • When and why is face powder used (make-up)?

Need help with a school project.

Why do you use face powder (basically why would you want to use face powder)When and why is face powder used (make-up)?
If your wearing liquid foundation it sets the foundation. Some people wear the powder alone for a lighter feel.

Hope i helped %26amp;%26amp; good luck. :]When and why is face powder used (make-up)?
well i only use make up when i have pimples.

im pregnant right now and boy do the pimples like me..

so now i use a liquid foundation to cover the pimple then a powder to even out the color on my face. so i dont have spots of foundation on my face in random places.

    hope this link helps

    http://ezinearticles.com/?Make-Up-Powder%26amp;id=405335
i use it over liquid foundation, the liquid foundation helps the powder stick.. .but doesnt feel sticky.

its great coverage, and will stay on a lot longer and not wear off :D
Powder is put over foundation to finish off your look.

It helps everything look even.It keeps make up on longer.

If you have greasy, oily skin you put on pressed powder.

People with normal skin use loose powder.

Pick a powder with a similar shade of colour to your foundation.
to even out skin tone and give a finished look instead of being shiny.
it stops my face looking shiny xx
When I first started wearing it, it was because I have pale skin and felt self confident about it. The power gave my cheeks a little colour.

Now, I use it for the same reason - I'm white as a ghost, but lately, pale skin had got more popular so some days I can do without it.

I guess I just like the effect it has on my complexion.

Do you know a good face powder to cover the zits and pimples?

I found one. i know it works cause it hides the redness i get on my face. i have fair sensetive skin, in the summer i burn never tan, in winter i am a naturl pale goth. but this loreal true match covered the redness compleatly. oh ya but i dont ware foundation at all never have and never will..if u do thats maybe y u cant cover it up.. foundation adds to the irritation n stuff.. hope it works for u..Do you know a good face powder to cover the zits and pimples?
A powder foundation is going to give you more coverage than a loose or pressed powder but you will still have that powder feel. I don't have any specific brand suggestions.Do you know a good face powder to cover the zits and pimples?
Piece of advice for your pimple, try ice bag for your pimple everytime you have a free time or before you sleep put it as much as you can tolorate the coldness,I've been using it or freeze pieces of cucumber and put them on your pimple and another thing don't use soap at all if you can just wash more often water only will do, to cover up zits try Max factor foundation.
There is a Dual Coverage Powder Foundation from Mary Kay that works great! Mary Kay also has great products to help with the skin care, and with zits and pimples. Email me or go to my website for more information!
MAC blot powder is great. It's meant to cover oily areas. The best product is actually a blemish concealer by Bobbi brown. It's got salicylic acid and actaully treats the blemishes on top of covering them.
Mac Studio Fix is probably one of the best brands out there but it is 25.00 dollars but believe me it is worth it

Is face powder in a compact allowed on airplanes? What about lip liner in pencil form?

You are permitted to bring solid cosmetics and personal hygiene items as such lipstick, lip balm and similar solids.

I had to fly l to New York a week ago, and makeuup is fine, as long it isn't in liquid form

Here's a link from the TSA of allowed items. Is face powder in a compact allowed on airplanes? What about lip liner in pencil form?
These days it's a wonder you can wear your clothes! The future of commercial air travel is getting rather dim. The industry must rethink it's basic approach to long distance travel.I think the dirigible is a viable replacement for the jumbo jet at least they don't fall out of the sky if the engine quits! Is face powder in a compact allowed on airplanes? What about lip liner in pencil form?
go online and search for the airports you will be flying in and out of and usually they have a list of items you can't take on board with you.
I am not sure, it is best to check with the airline right before you fly, it depends on the security level. I flew when it was orange, and no I could not bring anything like that on the plane. I know a lot of people had to trow alot of things, some of them were expencive and they were not happy.

Check with the airlines. It also might depend on where you are flying in the counry or out of the contry and to what contry
    yeah, why wouldn't it be?
yeah, but just to be safe, if u are flying ... e-mail the airplane company and ask them
    no
just to be on the safe side put all your make up in the check in.
As long as the makeup is dry, yes. Liquid makeup (foundation, lip gloss, nail polish) is what is not allowed.
The last time I looked, solid forms of makeup are fine. You should check the airline web site -- they constantly update info on rules/regs for what you may or may not carry onto the plane.
yes and yes, you just cant have liquid foundation and stuff like that, but you can bring a powder, trust me i just flew
yes it is allowed.. anything that has liquid in it isn't allowed though. like mascara. the rules get stricter if you're flying in and out of the US
    Yes!!! no tweasers though

Why can't I find a face powder light enough for my skin?

I always go for the lightest shade, and it just makes my face look dirty or pink. Even translucent is too pink or orangy..any help? my skin tone is just neutral and very fair..Why can't I find a face powder light enough for my skin?
My skin is so light, I glow in the dark.

Try Cornsilk or Cover Girl translucent powder - they blend on me, they will blend on anyone.

Are you wearing foundation under the powder? Could be a reaction of the two products.

Change the powder 'puff ' once a month or so, to prevnt pimples. Why can't I find a face powder light enough for my skin?
first you should be asking yourself: do i need face powder? most girls dont. unless you have acne, or a really uneven skin tone, try to go without it. i see no point in someone wearing face powder if they have nothing to hide.

second: is this generic or just kinda how you are? consider going outside and enjoying some sunshine.

third: try mineral powder, it goes on as light as you need it too, and usually looks natural.

    GOOD LUCK!
Why do you want powder? If it's to control shine you might do better simply using oil blotting papers (Clean %26amp; Clear makes cool ones that let the paper turn see-thru as it blots so you know they're working). Super-matte skin is overrated!

If your heart is set on powder try using yellow based powder (most skin has a yellow base no matter what the tone) and use a big fluffy brush to sweep over the face - not a pad. Depending on your age I'd reccomend Bobbi Brown powders, which are light , come in a variety of shades, and look very natural.
Bare Minerals is perfect for pale skin and Sheercover is also a great product to use that looks totally natural and looks like you are wearing no makeup at all, but your skin glows and looks like porceline. It's great for light skintones.
    same reason i can't, lol.

you should try those bare minerals, they have a translucent thing that they say makes them glow well... I don't know, good luck... hopefully your skin is good enough that you don't need it..
if you're using it just to absorb excess oil %26amp; etc, why don't you just go for blotting papers? they don't mess up the make up you have underneath %26amp; are so much more easier to use then powder. but if it's actually for covering up .. stick to liquid foundation, they have pretty much every shade.

What brand of face powder can you recommend?

I'm interested in buying some, share your expierience?Anyone used MAC Mineralize Skinfinish face powder?

Unless you have amazing skin, use a concealer or a sheerer foundation [MAC Hyper Real] under it.

  • What is your favourite face powder?

Face powder, not a foudation powder.

Please advise. Thanks. What is your favourite face powder?
Bold 2 in 1What is your favourite face powder?
MAC powder is the best. It gives the best coverage. It only runs around 19-23 for the compact powders. Trust me I tried every brand before and nothing compares to MAC.
For something less expensive than department store brands, but works well and is good for skin, go for Physicians Formula Talc-Free Mineral Wear Loose Powder. It keeps shine under control, makes your foundations last, and it won't clog your pores.
    Mary Kay loose powder.
    cover girl is !!!
Bobbi Brown does some great face powders. I tend to use an oil free tinted moisturiser without powder though.
MAC! I love it! And for a cheaper brand i like the new Maybelline dream matte powder!
channel or dior - both of them are good

but depends on your age this one are good for ladies over 35-40

in case you are younger use max factor or elisabeth arden
Believe it or not, the more expensive a powder is doesn't mean it's more effective. Merle Normal loose translucent powder works great and is not as pricey as department store brands.

How do you apply face powder?

i know its a silly question

but im always questioning whether i put it on right or not?How do you apply face powder?
Take a big fluffy brush, dab it in the powder and lightly tap off any excess then apply in big swirls all over the face.

Hope this helps and have a nice day ;-)How do you apply face powder?
well i take my big face powder brush, swirl it around in the powder itself 9 but lightly swirling), then i tap it on a hard surface to get any excess off ( so i dont look cakey) then swirl it onto my face!
with a powder brush its big and fluffy!
always start from the outside and work in. always apply a moisturiser at least 10 minutes before you apply any foundation or powder -this stops it looking patchy.
the key to applying face powder, naturally, is to make sure you apply it correctly. When applying powder, think of where you need the powder. These areas include the your cheeks, nose, chine, forehead, and even your neck if the color is noticable different. It helps to have a large round brush and to make sure each amount put on this brush is rubbed evenly throughout your face. There really is no science to it, except to just keep practicing and soon you will get it right.

For best results, make sure your face powder is almost identical to your skin tone.

P.S. - it also helps to have a friend near by to tell you that you put it on evenly...in order to avoid having an obvious look that you used face powder
you will need a dusting brush, apply a bit of teh powder on the brush, if you get excess powder on the brush, tap of never blow! this spreads germs on to the brush.

gently apply on your face by sweeping outwards from the centre of your face, look in mirror, and apply more if needed!

    gud luk!
    with a face brush
Put it on lightly, whatever you do - don't rub it into your face.

Whether using a sponge or pad or brush, just dab dab dab where you want it.

What is the best kind of compact face powder for people with fair skin (on the paler side)?

    Store bought products only please

For sale in CanadaWhat is the best kind of compact face powder for people with fair skin (on the paler side)?
I have pretty pale skin. I really like the loreal true match. They have warm, cool and neutral shades in different colors. I like neutral soft ivory with my skin. I know that many powders tend to look orangeish on me since I am so white. Loreal has never done that to me.What is the best kind of compact face powder for people with fair skin (on the paler side)?
i won't suggest you to use compact face powder. dermatologists don't recommend it either. it will irritate your skin. loose powder is way better.
I think MAC and they probably have it in Canada; check dept stores. They have a good assortment and you can find the one that exactly matches your skin tone.

    good luck!!

Any suitable face powder for sensitive and itchy face?

is that good to use sunblock face powder? since it is not oily. but will it make my face getting worse? thank youAny suitable face powder for sensitive and itchy face?
It's hard to suggest any products for sensitive skin. If you continue to use the wrong products, you will get worse. Sunblock is not used as a face powder. There might be some products for sensitive skin with SPF on it. I think you need some advice from your family doctor, a esthetician or a dematologist will be betterAny suitable face powder for sensitive and itchy face?
Sunblock face powder? How good could a sunblock be in powder form? I'd stick with the lotion form, and look specifically for sensitive skin. If you want to be even more cautious go for the children's form of sunblock, it probably won't be as harsh as the adult form of it. Also, check the consistency of the lotion, it should be on the thin side, not thick. So it'll be lighter on your face. If you're truely concerned about it, go to your family doctor or dermatologist.

Do I use foundation or face powder?

I want a nice natural, white/creamy, smooth look on my face. I have rosy cheeks and want cover it a little bit so that my cheeks doesn't stand out that much. Asian girls sometimes want nice white skin, so I always make sure my skin isn't exposed to too much sun. If I can only use one of the two, do I use foundation or pressed powder to create that matte look? If I do use face powder,do I choose the color beige?Do I use foundation or face powder?
Go to you tube and click on the Michelle Phan videos. She is asian and knows the perfect foundation and sometimes she uses face powderDo I use foundation or face powder?
If you want a creamy/white face, you wouldn't get beige face powder. You would get ';fair'; for your type of skin. Also, it depends on what type of skin you have for the type of coverup you want. If you have oily skin, use powder, so that is adsorbs up the moisture. But if you have dry skin, go for the liquid foundation.

But above everything, it depends on how well you take care of your skin before you make up. Make sure you wash your face twice a day to take out the dirt, oil, off your face so that you have a clean pallet to work with. Also, use face moisturizer to keep it young and soft.

    Good luck!
I use bare minerals if you go their website there's a whole color wheel lol

It also has spf 15 right in the powder! I use clinique moisturizer underneath that also has spf power for an added sunscreen effect.

Powder has always been what I use. It's really hot and humid in Texas so foundation would clouge my pores when they open to sweat.

Also I find powder much easier and less pancakey to apply
google Dinair Airbrush Makeup...i really think its the way to go. normal powder or foundation will clog ur pores and Dinair is all water based so its not bad for ur skin. they have tons of different shades to choose from. ive been using their makeup for 2 years and i LOVE it!! it makes my skin look flawless...anywho, i hope i helped...=).

What do you put on your face besides powder to control the shine in the summer?

    which mattifying product?

no astringers or toners thanksWhat do you put on your face besides powder to control the shine in the summer?
First off, The powder and the foundation you use has to be oil free! it has to say so on the bottle using one with extra oil in it is just gonna make you face even more oily. and believe me they put lot of oil it them.

Also you can pat you face down even couple of house with a little piece of toilet paper doing so will absorb the oil in too the tissue.

the good side to this is you will not have wrinkles at a young age. What do you put on your face besides powder to control the shine in the summer?
Put makeup primer under your foundation. That will help alot. I love Smashbox Primer Light.

  • Geisha look, where to find white face powder?

For Halloween, I wanna be a Geisha.

Where can I find a white face powder thing?

[Yes, planning WAY ahead]Geisha look, where to find white face powder?
To get a proper geisha look, you need a LOT more than just white face powder. You need the white on your face and neck (yes, neck -- the makeup should go onto your shoulders, chest, and back as well as your face) to be completely opaque. It also needs to be smooth and matte, like porcelain. If it's at all shiny or wet-looking it's not accurate. Probably the best way to get the proper look is with a combination of a liquid foundation and a powder. If you don't want to spend the money for a set of proper geisha makeup (and I can't blame you, you would spend at least $300 for a full authentic set), I've heard good things about Ben Nye stage makeup.

Remember that you're also going to need red for your lips and eyes, black eyeliner, and black mascara. You'll need something for your eyebrows too -- probably some black or dark brown pencils for a nice, delicate look to the brows.

If you're serious about being a geisha for Halloween, please put some effort into making sure your costume is as authentic as possible. You don't need to spend thousands to make a nice costume, you just need to put in a bit of effort. Geisha are real people and it's important to treat them and their art with respect. If you want tips, the Immortal Geisha forums are drowning in information on geisha, their work, their costumes, and their makeup. You should definitely take a look if you're at all interested in geisha.Geisha look, where to find white face powder?

What is the compound present in egg shell which makes it a good alternative for making face powder?

I need it to be specific...What is the compound present in egg shell which makes it a good alternative for making face powder?
The main ingredient in eggshells is calcium carbonate (the same brittle white stuff that chalk, limestone, cave stalactites, sea shells, coral, and pearls are made of). The shell itself is about 95% CaCO3 (which is also the main ingredient in sea shells).

My guess is most people are not allergic to it than other chemical compound, so it is a good alternative. What is the compound present in egg shell which makes it a good alternative for making face powder?
I believe it is calcium carbonate
    According to Wikipedia: ';The eggshell is approximately 95% calcium carbonate crystals, which are stabilized by a protein matrix. Without the protein, the crystal structure would be too brittle to keep its form. ';

So it is probably calcium carbonate, the chemical name for chalk.

Lots of face powders are made of talc, which is a white powder that is different from chalk.

no there isn't a real difference between them.Is there a difference between men's face powder and women's?
There is no such a thing as Men's Face makeup or powder.

Make-up is mainly for women but anyone can use them. Just make sure before you apply your makeup, your skin is clean and moisturized.

    Good Luck! =)
    theres a difference.
So long as your moisturise first i dont see why any foundation would flake or go patchy

Where can I buy avon Shimmer face powder with brush?

I am looking for a 2002 Avon product. It is a shimmering face powder brush. the shimmering powder is inside the brush and you shake it up and apply. It looks like a blush brush. I have one now, that is great, but it's almost out. I don't know if it's the name or directions, but it has Shake It Up! above the product type (face powder brush). I would appreciate any help. Thanks a bunch!Where can I buy avon Shimmer face powder with brush?
Go to Avon.com and see if you can find it there. You can also find a rep. on line. Reps. have connections that we don't have so they can probably find it faster. I'll ask the Avon reps. I know to see if they can locate it. Or you could try something like ebay.Where can I buy avon Shimmer face powder with brush?
I have connections to find this product for you, so please message me if you wish. However, like some mentioned above, I think it will be better if you get a fresh product instead of a discontinued item that is a few years old =)
    MAYBE A AV0N CATALOG...
I have one, I'll give it to you. LOL

I love those things though, I bought a really nice one at Victoria Secret. Its Huge and has lasted forever.

You are not going to believe this, But I too have the shimmer stick powder brush from Victoria Secret. It is awesome!!!!!!! Not only does it smell good, but it gives me some shimmer and wow its great.

That is probably going to be your best bet if they have discontinued it.
look up Avon in the yellow pages, then u call them a request a catalogue!
You can find people who sell avon supplies at avon.com
Avon products are only sold from Avon representatives from Avon catalogs. But why are you looking for a 2002 brush? They come out with one every year. But anyway, you'd be surprised at how many stores/brands make brushes like that. Go to a drugstore and you'll find ten perfectly good ones. I have one from Victoria's Secret, and there you can choose from different color powders, blushes, and shimmers. Hope I helped!

For how long are you ment to use your compact face powder?

If it starts to change colour or the smell has changed then you need to get a new one. I think the rule of thumb is 6-8 months and if you haven't used it in over a year, you should probably get rid of it.For how long are you ment to use your compact face powder?
    Hi there, great question..

Your face powder wont be the thing that you need to be concerned with.. its your BRUSH!

First of all you need to use a good natural hair brush and you need to wash it once a week with Johnson %26amp; Johnson baby shampoo.. make sure you hang it over the sink on it's side to dry, you dont want the bacteria or micro organisms to get trapped in the bottom of your brush.

Your powder has no shelf life.. but the dead skin on your brush DOES!For how long are you ment to use your compact face powder?
on your powder container thing it should have a symbol of a container open then a number them an M this tells you how many months its ok to use for.
    5 hours
Change after a year. clean your brushes once a week though. Powder lasts a long time but you dont need to put to much on that dosent look natrual
i personally like to throw out my compacts about 6 months after ive had them, %26amp; i wash the sponge a lot. i also throw out mascara %26amp; lip gloss after a couple of months. anything moist like that grows bacteria.
    6-9 months.

You're only supposed to wear powder over liquid foundation right? If i wear powder foundation, do I have to put on face powder after that?
When you use a liquid foundation, you put a setting powder on top of it to blend everything together, and keep it from streaking or running.

If youre using powder foudnation, you dont have to.

But if you want to use a finishing powder it will blend it all together and make it look more natural.

You don't have to wear a powder over your mineral foundation. Only over your liquid foundation.
    Nope.

How do you use a bronzer the face powder kind.?

get a powder bush and apply it SPARRINGLY!How do you use a bronzer the face powder kind.?
get a powder brush and brush it lightly all over your face, dont forget your chin, dont want a line..How do you use a bronzer the face powder kind.?
With a bronzer brush (yes, there is such a thing) sweep the color lightly all the places the sun would hit. Your chin, cheeks, nose, and forehead. Use sparingly and apply more as needed. I usually do this after foundation, before blush and powder.
Powder or Liquid? I like VS powder bronzer and the you would use a brush and apply anywhere on your face that the sun normally hits, like your forehead, tops of your cheeks, bridge of nose, chin
    i use it every day

mine came with a little pad and you just put it on your face. with mine i can use a lot, if i blend it in, and look really tan and healthy
a blusher brush dab a little on the brush blow apply lightly

Do you have to wear face powder after applying foundation?

In my makeup routine i tend to apply foundation first, then eye light relector to cover dark shadows, then i apply pressed powder to my skin, all over face, including dabbing over the eye highlighter. Then i apply my blusher etc.

But i wondered if i should be dabbing powder on my skin as ive seen women with glowy shiny skin that look like they dont even use powder and they still look great!

Im olive skinned, have dry skin but my forehead and nose always gets too shiny/greasy looking!

Whats the best way to achieve the glowy look, do i still have to use a little powder?

Thanks for your help on this!

The powder helps ';set'; your foundation and helps your blush, eye shadow and liner stay on longer. If you are trying to achieve a ';glowy'; look, use a powder that is labeled as ';translucent'; instead of one that calls itself ';full coverage';. Full coverage type powder is heavier and will give you a matte (non-shiny) finish. Also, it will help to use a powder brush instead of a pressed powder pad...this too will help and in being more translucent on your skin, giving you a glowy look...hope this helps.....Do you have to wear face powder after applying foundation?
You don't need to use powder over your foundation especially with dry skin. You may want to try blotting tissues for the oily areas instead. Blotting tissues are not the same as Kleenex and don't disturb your makeup. Also, you don't want to cover the eye light reflector with anything, it won't work as well.
I don't wear pressed powder %26amp; my skin is more dewy as I also wear this moisturizer called Miracle Lotion which is great for dry skin %26amp; is made of natural ingredients %26amp; contains 7 natural oils %26amp; 14 herbs, it gives a really nice glow(please see link below).

powder sets your make-up %26amp; if it's a good quality one %26amp; used sparingley, it'll prevent greasiness %26amp; gives a nice matt finish.

If you have dry skin you might not need it.

The best thing to do is try with %26amp; without powder each for a week %26amp; see which you look better (also ask others what they think!).

PS%26gt; if you do want to wear it, make sure you get a good quality one.
No, do what ever looks best in your opinion. Mabelline Pure Make up is very good, and looks natural.
    use an oil free foundation
    yes
To get the glowy look, I simply wash my face first, apply a light touch of moisturizer, dab on a small amount of foundation, and then go on with the eyeshadow/blush/lipstick. Too much foundation, and the effect if certainly not natural, and with Spring here, less is even better.
    DON'T!!!!!!!

right i tried that once and I thought that that was what you were ment to do. I ended up with this disgusting thick paste over my face!!! It will clog your pores!! Use one or the other.

To be honest I woul;d recommend neither.

I use 'Nivea Visage young; be beautiful tinted moisturiser' it looks like foundation ( b coz it is tinted) but it feels like a moisturiser. Your skin will look gorgeous and radiant AND TANNED!!! It blends in with your natural skin tone and it wont make your skin oily. BUt cleanse properly before u use it!! xxx
    Hi,

You know, I don't think you necessarily need to use powder. Powder dries out foundation - that's its purpose :-)

Jemma Kidd does this great power that creates a glowly, dewy appearance:

I think Benefit do a similar one too!

For the problem areas like the nose, if you do not wish for it to be greasy/shiny, just apply powder to that area and the chin. You can also buy some 'blotting' papers from Boots, that have some powder lightly dusted on them and absorb the oil from your face without having to cake the powder on. They are great, I use them myself!

For 'light reflective' skin, I'd really recommend this product:

On a few occassions I've stayed up ALL night, then applied this in the morning and been told that my skin looks amazing and glowy! So it must work!

You could also use a transluscent powder and apply with a brush instead of a sponge. You can still use pressed powder - you don't have to use loose. I find that this sets my foundation but still looks really natural.

Another thing to consider is using a tinted moisturiser instead of a heavy foundation - Nivea do a great one! You don't need to use a powder with this.

Generally just refrain from putting too much makeup on your skin. You only need to use foundation on a few problem areas, you don't need to put in over your entire face like a mask.

    Hope this helps!

leave the highliter as a powder and try a more dewy slightly glittery foundation. dap a glittery powder over the shiny bits and if u r greasy put a little amount on the greay parts
Well the face is a tricky thing, different everytime. Best thing to do, I would think (from own experiences) is to get a good clenser for greasy skin for the mornings and a night clenser. This should help balence your skin. Ask at your local makeup counter for advice on this and shop around !

Exfoliate the skin useing a gentle product, and make sure you always rinse off all soap with cold water, as it will cause spots oddly...

then do the makeup...you will only need a tiny amount of powder, thats a shade lighter than the foundation, and just tab it on with a big powder puff !! just dab on the nose and forhead, and blush the cheeks. Play around with different styles to find the best amounts, but dont over do it.

The trick is in prep, get the skin under control, the rest is easy !
don't know. I use different stuffs and combinations for different effects. I use powder only when i wish to look pale. foundation when i wish to cover red spots (or to protect the skin from cold weather) and an illuminating foundation to shine like a star. my skin is olive to, and the mixed type o skin (dry and oily) so we should use the same tricks ;)
Try using powder where your skin gets shiny and use a powder brush and loose powder. To get a glowy look use maybelline dream mousse blush instead of powder blusher.
Don't use powder it takes the sheen away from your foundation ,just use your concealer and foundation .x
