I buy MAC makeup and always get compliments. Only if they knew that my face isn't as clear as it looks. lol. but it works great. plus the girl help you find a color thats best for you. good luckHelp!! face makeup troubles with foundation and powders whats the best stuff please give were to buy?
Well the only other choice is in between then . I think you're probably using the convince store purchased makeup which is more likely to do that stuff. Use a higher quality face powder and foundation like the ones you may find at Sephora or MAC. They are more likely to blend with your actual skin tone than cover it up. That way you avoid being to light or too dark . There is a wider range of complexions other than toasty or porcelain. I find that even if you mix the two because of the quality you'll still kinda of have a glossy look to your face so i wouldn't mix.
try going with no make up or mediocre style, i say thats your last resort
There are some new foundations that are really great when it comes to this. You almost can't go wrong with foundations like Covergirl TruBlend or L'Oreal True Match. Just pick one close to your skin color on your jaw and blend blend blend. Powder isn't necessary unless you're really shiny or oily, in which case a translucent powder is best.
mac is really good and they have a really good bronzer) it blends well and it dont look orange or fake unlike most bronzers and they do fab foundations its really easy to mach your skin tone :)
get matched at a makeup counter or sephora. they also will help u with texture.

u can also try Mixing ur foundations, the dark and light. :)
I agree with Strawberry. You can also find makeup sample packs at drugstores from brands like Revlon and Cover Girl. You could pick one of the sample packs up to find a good match before buying the regular size bottle of makeup.
okay well you could try going to macys and in there there are mac store. Its a really good make up brand %26amp;%26amp; the people there are super friendly, and they wont laugh if you dont know a thing about make up. But they can match the perfect foundation to match your skin tone...i used to have the same problem its a little pricy there but its definetly worth it...it also lasts a really long time.
A couple of the best foundations that I have found are MAC and the most amazing one is NARS... I remember the first time I tried it, wow. The best thing to do is to find a NARS or MAC beauty counter near you: http://www.narscosmetics.com/acb/stores/?/a>

...get the professionals to match what is right for you and your skin... it's their job and it is so worth it once you find out and are comfortable with a product.
i always had that trouble, then just recently i tried a new makeup from maybelline, it's called pure makeup.. i bought it in nude, light and then i top it with the purestay powder in buff and out of all the makeups i tried, which is alot, this one looks and feels the most natural
