I have had an expensive jar of naturla spirulina, chorella and barley leaf sitting in my cupboard for a week because I have been put off using it due to the bad taste that I don't have the means to cover up using a fruit blender or something (I am a teen under my parents roof and make myself take these things discretely).
So I put a teaspoon in a cup of tea and masked most of the taste with a heaped spoon of sugar. It would be good if it works doing it this way. So will the powdered material not denature/die if it is mixed in hot water and will I still get the same effect as consuming spirulina normally? Is it OK to consume spirulina powder in hot drinks?
I don't see why not. There is little information on line to do with ingesting it. If it was critical to take it in any particular way it would have been stressed in an article about the product or it would be on the Label.
There doesn't appear to be anything in the product that could be destroyed by heat.
Have a go - shame to waste it.
